Diagnostic Assessment

An answer
that actually fits.

Our neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic assessments are designed for adults who have spent years wondering why — and are ready for clarity. Insurance accepted.

Is this you?

You've spent years asking
why am I like this?

Maybe you've been high-functioning enough to fall through the cracks — doing okay on the outside while exhausted on the inside. Or maybe you were diagnosed as a child but never had someone explain what it actually means for you as an adult. Either way, you deserve real answers.

You suspect you might be autistic, have ADHD, or both — but have never been formally evaluated as an adult
You were diagnosed years ago but still feel like no one has fully explained how it shows up in your life
You've masked so long you're not sure what's actually you and what's the performance
You're managing co-occurring anxiety, depression, or burnout that doesn't seem to improve with standard treatment
You want workplace, school, or healthcare accommodations and need documentation to access them
You found out late in life and want clarity on what this means for who you are and how you move forward
A diagnostic assessment doesn't change who you are. It gives you a framework to finally understand yourself.
The Process

What to expect:
3 to 5 visits.

Every assessment is tailored to your needs. Most clients complete the process in 3 to 5 appointments over a few weeks.
01 Initial Consultation ~60 minutes We start by listening. This session is about your history, your experiences, and what's brought you here. We'll discuss what the evaluation process looks like and determine the right path forward for you.
02 Clinical Assessment ~2 to 3 visits Using observational and clinical methods validated for adults, we conduct a thorough evaluation of your neurodivergent profile — including strengths, challenges, co-occurring conditions, and the ways masking may have shaped your presentation.
03 Feedback & Wellness Protocol ~60 minutes This is where it all comes together. We review your results in detail and walk you through a comprehensive written report — not just a diagnosis, but a personalized wellness protocol with recommendations for therapy, accommodations, supports, and next steps. You leave with clarity and a plan.
Good to know: Our assessments are insurance-eligible. We'll walk you through coverage at your consultation. Self-pay options and payment plans are also available.
Our Approach

Assessments built for
adults, not adapted from children.

Most diagnostic tools were designed with children in mind. At Pure Intention Services, we use observational and clinical assessment methods specifically validated for adults — including those who have spent years masking, compensating, or being misunderstood.

Our clinicians are trained in state-recognized observational modalities for both autism and ADHD evaluation. We look at the full picture — not just a checklist of symptoms, but your life history, your strengths, your co-occurring conditions, and how everything intersects.

The result is a comprehensive written report that doesn't just name a diagnosis — it gives you a personalized wellness protocol and roadmap for what comes next.

FAQs

Questions we hear
all the time.

Will insurance cover my assessment?+
Many insurance plans cover diagnostic assessments in full or in part. We'll verify your benefits before your first appointment so you know exactly what to expect. Contact us and we'll check your coverage.
I was already diagnosed as a child. Can I still get an assessment?+
Yes — and many adults find it incredibly valuable. A childhood diagnosis often doesn't capture how neurodivergence presents in adult life, especially after years of masking. An adult assessment gives you a current, complete picture.
How is this different from a school or childhood evaluation?+
Childhood evaluations focus on academic and behavioral functioning in school settings. Our adult assessments are designed to capture the full complexity of neurodivergence in adult life — including masking, co-occurring conditions, relationships, work, and identity.
What if I've been masking my whole life and I'm not sure what's "really" me?+
This is one of the most common concerns we hear — and it's exactly what our assessment process is designed to account for. We're trained to recognize how masking can hide or alter the presentation of autism and ADHD, and we create space for you to show up as you actually are.
Can I use the report for workplace or school accommodations?+
Yes. Our reports are comprehensive, DSM-5 aligned, and written to support accommodation requests in workplace, academic, and healthcare settings. We can also coordinate with other providers if needed.
What happens after the assessment?+
You leave with a written report and a personalized wellness protocol — specific recommendations for therapy, supports, and next steps. We can also connect you with our therapy services or other resources in your area. You won't just get a diagnosis and a door — you'll have a plan.
